for really good indie music i would go to daytrotter. they have new music by a different (mostly unknown) band every day. you can also check out their archives where they have lots of indie classics. all of it is completely free and legal too so that’s a huge plus. check it out

indiekid.org was recommended to me, as was lastfm.com. I personally like pitchforkmedia, but they feature non-indie stuff too.

I just go on google and type in the search box: latest Indie music or popular indie bands
And then find bands you like.
Wikipedia has a whole list of Indie Bands
